Affordable, IoT-ready technology makes these systems easy to install and

integrate. Buildings benefit from lower insurance premiums, fewer claims,

and reduced water bills. With sustainability codes tightening and water

conservation becoming critical, leak detection is no longer optional.

CHOOSING THE RIGHT PLUG-IN ACCESSORIES

Selecting the appropriate accessories for your Aware Leak Sensor helps you achieve the right balance between:

AVOIDING FALSE NEGATIVES

  • Ensuring water is detected where it should be.

AVOIDING FALSE POSITIVES

  • preventing alerts from moisture that is normal or expected

The Aware leak sensor includes a 3.5 mm

audio-jack port that allows multiple accessory detectors to plug into the main sensor.

These accessories extend detection range, reach difficult areas, or trigger alerts only at specific water levels.

2) SENSOR POSITIONING BRACKET

The Bracket anchors the leak it to be lifted for cleaning and anchoring its spot.

Also used for mounting a sensor on a wall (useful if an accessory is attached to it) recommended locations

  • Kitchen floors that are frequently mopped

  • Bathroom floors

  • Under-sink cabinets where objects may move the sensor

  • Any location where the sensor may be displaced benefits

  • Keeps the sensor consistently positioned

  • Provides a visual reminder of where the sensor belongs

  • Makes it obvious if a sensor has been moved or removed

  • Allows easy lift-out for cleaning

1) BASIC SENSOR

The basic sensor detects water through two

leak pins on the bottom of the unit.

best uses

  • Kitchen floors

  • Bathroom floors (especially behind toilets)

  • Inside kitchen or bathroom sink cabinets

  • Near washing machines or water heaters

key characteristics

  • Detects very small puddles of water

  • Works best when placed flat on the floor

  • Detects water only where the sensor is located

Screenshot 2026-03-31 at 9.45.58 AM.png

3) LEAK ROPE

The Leak Rope is a rope-style sensing cable that detects water anywhere along its length.

best uses

  • Dropped ceilings with overhead piping

  • Pipe chases (fed through a small drilled hole)

  • Around the back and sides of washing machine

  • Long mechanical runs where multiple sensors would otherwise be required important!

Because the rope is extremely sensitive, it should be used only in locations where any moisture

is abnormal.

4) LEAK PUCK

The Leak Puck extends detection to additional locations and can be daisy-chained together from one main sensor.

best uses

  • Under dishwashers

  • Under refrigerators

  • Mechanical rooms needing multiple detection points

  • Inside sink cabinets with multiple plumbing fixtures

orientation feature

  • Side A - detects approximately 1 mm of water

  • Side B - detects approximately 7 mm of water. This allows the puck to be flipped over for either very sensitive detection or higher-level alerts.

5) LEAK PROBE

The Leak Probe is a two-pin sensor at

the end of a 1 meter cable designed

for detecting water at a precise point.

best uses

  • Touching the floor for extremely sensitive wet-floor detection

  • Clipped onto the side of a pan to detect water at a certain level

  • Detecting water inside tight spaces where a full sensor cannot fit

  • Monitoring specific components or equipment

6) LEAK DOME

(HVAC Condensation Pan Sensor)

The Leak Dome is designed

specifically for HVAC and fan coil unit

condensation pans. It detects when

a drain blockage causes water in the

pan to rise above a specified level.

configurable activation heights

0.4 inches • 0.6 inches • 0.9 inches

key feature

The dome cover shields the leak pins so dripping water from above will not trigger an alert, which is commonin HVAC fan coil units.

7) SENSOR CABOOSE

The sensor caboose attaches to a

basic leak sensor, and allows for

leak detection when positioned

on its side, in either a vertical or

horizontal position.

purpose

  • Touching the floor for extremely sensitive wet-floor detection

  • Clipped onto the side of a pan to detect water at a certain level

  • Detecting water inside tight spaces where a full sensor cannot fit

  • Monitoring specific components or equipment

best uses

  • Behind toilet

  • Against kitchen toe-kick

  • along edge of room where discretion matters

  • In any thin space where basic sensor lying flat will not fit, and cables for probe are undesirable
